What are you on?

Contra Costa county woman dies of West Nile

Alright, somebody has been officially declared to have died from West Nile virus at Martinez. That's not very far from Davis. I would really rather have mosquitoes killed than have organic planter boxes protected here in Davis.

I mean come on, the data relating to health benefits from organic foods is still controversial. Furthermore, dosage levels from aerial spraying to eliminate mosquitoes are not high enough to cause problems to humans. I know that aerial spraying is not a panacea for this problem but it's one way to deal with the problem head on.

Don't get me wrong though, I like organic produce since most of them are grown locally. I always try to support local farmers but I think no one wants to have another person die from West Nile virus.

Last memorial day weekend, I went to Yosemite National Park. I shot this photo of mirror lake. It's a beautiful site to see. Be sure to visit this place next time you go to Yosemite.

I will be going to Yellowstone with my friend Joao in mid-september. I'll sure post photos from that place.

The Salmon was perfectly cooked! It was cooked in a microwave which makes it more intriguing. The caprese side dish was also yummy!

Let me know if you want the recipe for this yummy meal!

hungarian folk dance at the golden gate park

During the St. Stephen's celebration at the Golden Gate park, there were Hungarian folk dances too. I thought they were nice to watch! Fun!

hot art at the de young museum

I saw this piece of gay art at the de Young Museum when I was there over the weekend. This was the only one I saw. Perhaps, there are more. Anyway, this painting was done in the 1950's. Entitled 'Boy Party', this piece must have been quite controversial during that time. I wonder how people would view this currently?

golden gate park band playing hungarian music

I visited a my good friend Mark over the weekend. We went to de Young museum. Along the way, we saw the Hungarian celebration of St. Stephen's day. They played hungarian folk music and dances.
